Hi all, new NS8SE user here.....Which way do you all mount the OTA on the NS8SE mount? I don't have the Celestron dovetail bar on my OTA. I happen to have a slightly older Celestron 8se OTA, (silver) but I have the latest mount and tripod (long story) I know the manual says to keep the Celestron logo correct way up when mounting, my DT bar, is ADE, so I guess I keep that logo right way up too. It looks like you leave 2 inches of the DT bar proud of the mount towards the back of the OTA, eyepiece side. Kinda basic question here, but I wanted to be 100% sure I have it orientated correctly. I do wonder about the lock screw and dovetail grips in the Nexstar mount, after you tighten it up, that it's definitely going to hold that kinda heavy OTA in place, despite it all moving around during a session? Does anybody use an extra failsafe grip here, or is everybody happy to trust the Celestron dovetail locking system? It appears pretty secure, but I want to make sure, because if it ever came off, it would definitely be the end of the OTA!

wauw!! I have about the same setup, eos 6D mk1 + Mcrubinar 1000mm f11 + 2x teleconverter. From day 1 I have the same idea to shoot the ISS. but i find it a nightmare to focus... I think you are the first one on YT. who has done it. Verry interesting footage! nice!
